RYA Training

Lee on the Solent Sailing Club is a RYA Recognised Training Centre and offers the full range of RYA dinghy and powerboat training courses, plus a number of shore based theory courses.

 

The courses are operated by qualified RYA instructors leading to the award of the RYA certificates of competence. The instructors are all club members and volunteer their time and experience to support less experienced members in fulfilling their sailing ambitions. 

 

Courses are open to all Lee on the Solent Sailing Club sailing members and their children plus the children of social members. Children (cadets) must be over 8 years old on the 1st April 2008. All children between 8 and 12 must be accompanied by a parent during all the training sessions. Over the season it is possible to achieve a RYA qualification.

 

 

CADET TRAINING (Levels 1 to 4) & START RACING COURSES START THIS SATURDAY

 

Those of you booked on these courses should come along to the signal station and changed be ready to sail by 9.15am. Remember to bring wit you a your shower gear and shoes that can get wet. You MUST bring a buoyancy aid.

TRAINEES' REGATTA  30 & 31 August 2008  DETAILS

 

Come and try your skills in a safe environment. A race briefing about the signals, starts and rules given before racing. Club instructors will be afloat to help and safety cover will be provided at all times.

 

 

 

 

When bad weather prevents practical sessions afloat the instructors will, where possible, provide shore based training either at the signal station or in the main clubhouse.
