Training Programme Cadets

2010 RYA Training Programme - Cadets Levels 1 to 4

For the practical sessions run on Saturday mornings.

All participants should be at the Signal Station ready to sail 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.

The practical training sessions will finish at 11.45 approximately with boats and equipment being put returned to their berths. The session will not be completed until the instructor has de-briefed the trainees and ALL boats are berthed and ALL equipment is stowed correctly.

Parents are expected to assist in the operation of the sessions including rigging, de-rigging and berthing of boats.

When bad weather prevents practical sessions afloat the instructors will, where possible, provide shore-based training either at the signal station or in the main clubhouse.

Cadet Training – Cadets must be 8 years old or over on April 1st 2010.

A parent or guardian must be present at signal station for cadets 12 years old or under.

Training sessions will end at 12:30 approx.

Stage 1 Basic understanding.
Stage 2 Improvers.
Stage 3 Competent sailor.
Stage 4 Two handed boats (need S2 or S3)
