Novice Races

Ever fancied joining in the racing  but felt a little inexperienced

well now you can gain experience racing against other novices.

The sailing committee invites all novices (members who have not raced regularly and who are have their RYA level 1 certificate and are within their first 3 years of sailing) to take part in their own races during Saturday afternoon club racing.

The novice race will start as part of the fourth class start , i.e. the last start and will perform the ultra-slow course with the toppers, etc. This course will be set to try and avoid crossing the faster fleets.

Novices MUST sign on in the normal way before the race and ensure that the entry is marked 'novice' so the race officer knows which race you are in.

Club boats may be hired for racing . Please make sure that your name is associated with the boat on the signing-on sheet so the results can be recorded correctly. Normal LOSSC hiring rules apply. (details)
