Lee on the Solent SC - Coaching & Open

2008 June 28, 29 Saturday 28th of June 2008

Wayne Shirley of the Royal Naval Sailing School will be with us offering race coaching in the Laser 2000 from 11:30.  This could be the last chance for some open sea training before the Nationals, so come along and get ready for Penzance under his expert guidance.

Wayne has been coaching the Royal Navy Dinghy Team for 4 years and has raced a RS400 on the RS Circuit for 3 years before moving to the Laser 2K last season.  He has been an RYA coach/assessor for 6 years and has been delivering Instructor courses to a wide variety of students including Advanced and Senior Instructor at local venues.  Wayne has been sailing at LOSSC for 5 years so understands the challenging conditions at the club and the nuances of the 'chop and tide'.

Please register your interest to attend the training day with the host organiser (see contact details below). Must be pre-booked.

Snacks will be available in the signal station at lunch time, or enjoy prize winning fish & chips from Lee On The Solent Fish And Chips (023 9255 4073) just around the corner.

Parking is available in the public car park to the east of the dinghy compound

Nearest camping is a mile away at Kingfisher Caravan Park 023 9250 2611, though we can accommodate a few campervans at the main club house.  B&B at the West Wind on 023 9255 2550

Attendees may, if they wish, join the Class Association on the day when membership forms will be available. Please visit www.laser2000.org.uk to find out more and / or join before the event.

Sunday’s Open Meeting entry fee will be £15. LOSSC actively encourages all competitors to join and support their respective Class Association and so membership of the Laser 2000 Class Association is required for this event.
