Aims of the Club
The aims of the Lee on the Solent Sailing Club are to promote and encourage small boat sailing, yacht racing, and the social intercourse of club members and to maintain a Club House and other premises for these purposes.
In meeting these aims, the club provides a comprehensive racing and cruising programme. It encourages classes to hold open meetings and national championships using the facilities. It encourages sailors to participate in events beyond the club. It provides a full adult and youth training programme as well as opportunities to try other water sports. Several members own yachts and there are often crewing opportunities for the experienced and inexperienced. There are sociable yacht cruises in local waters and further afield.
The Club has improved its facilities at the Signal Station, the beach front part of the club, by enlarging both changing rooms, adding toilets and extra showers and providing heating for those odd chilly days. Further development is planned in this area funded by a substantial grant from Sport England.
