Lee on the Solent Sailing Club
LOSSC is a long established, family friendly sailing club. Located on the edge of the finest sailing waters, it offers a full range of sailing activities including racing, cruising and training. The club offers regular class racing for a wide range of dinghy and catamaran classes plus fast medium and slow handicap fleets. Our supported classes are the RS400 and the 2000 (formerly the Laser 2000) and we particularly welcome members in these classes.
In addition the club has a strong and vibrant social scene and offers a social membership to those preferring not to sail but wish to enjoy the club atmosphere and the company of its members.
Activities at the Club
A full sailing programme is available to members with racing being held on Tuesdays and Saturdays throughout the season. The club also runs a number of open meetings during the year and its own regatta in September. Informal sailing and dinghy cruising opportunities are scheduled throughout the year together with organised rallies for the small but enthusiastic group of yacht owners.
LOSSC is an RYA Recognised Training Centre providing a variety of RYA courses for its members. Sail training for adults and cadets is provided on Saturday mornings during the summer. Other training sessions are arranged on specialised areas together with ad hoc sessions on topical subjects. View the training programme
The clubhouse located on the front at Lee on the Solent, includes a large function room with fully licensed bar (with excellent real ales) overlooking the broad expanse of the Solent. The club's caterers provide excellent suppers on Fridays and hearty dishes after Tuesday sailing as well as a wide range of menus for our frequent special events. Play Snooker on tables from Osborne House, Queen Victoria's weekend retreat on the Isle of Wight, and take part in the many fun tournaments during the year.
