Changing & Other Facilities at the Signal Station

There are male and female heated changing rooms with hot showers. There is also a galley and small viewing area.  Peter, the chef, and his team serve light refreshments on training days with welcome warming mugs of steaming tea or coffee.  There are public toilets a short distance to the west.

The race officer’s platform is above the galley and it is equipped with sound, light and flag signal systems.  The training instructors and the shore personnel are in constant radio contact with the safety boats.

All courses involve training both on shore based and afloat. On the water instruction is undertaken in club boats or in members' own craft. The instructors being in the training dinghies or instructing from one of the club's RIBs.

Whilst all training is taking place safety cover is provided by the club's safety boats which are manned by RYA qualified crew.

Qualified first-aiders and first aid facilities are available during all club training sessions.

Volunteer members and parents are welcome to assist during the Saturday morning training sessions. this help ensures that the instructors' time is given to the trainees.

Security

Although every effort is made to ensure the security of personal property, Lee on the Solent Sailing Club and its instructors take no responsibility for personal property left on club premises. The male changing room is now fitted with a security combination lock to reduce the risk. The club strongly recommends that all personal effects belonging to youth trainees (cadets) should be clearly marked with the owner's name. Whilst afloat the cadet's personal effects are the responsibility of the accompanying parent.

Parking

There is plenty of free parking at the main clubhouse, on the road, and in the large car park to the east of the compound.  Members may not to park in the boat compound or the access to the slipway.
